~ Chocolate Obsession ~

It is official - I am chocolate obsessed!!  This is nothing new mind you but it seems to be far more noticeable while I am breast feeding.

I am constantly searching for chocolate.

I don't care if it is white, milk or my favourite dark chocolate
.
It can have nuts with it
.
It can be a cake or even in the form of a typewriter keypad.

Just don't get in my way while I am searching for it or eating it!

My First Post!

Hi I'm Linda and welcome to the first post in my lulufroufrou blog. Please bare with me as I learn the blogging process as I go!. I'm a SAHM to Louise and wife to darling cycling nut Rod. I started making hair clips for Lou during her naps because I hate daytime TV. She soon had way too many hair clips and started running away at the first sight of them. I decided to try my hand at selling them and they have proved to be more popular with friends and friend of friends than I could have ever imagined.
I thought that this would be a great time to document how my little lulufroufrou business grows - and my little Louise that is!
Watch out for sale items and special giveaways here too!

~ Great Gift ~

Everybody is so kind when you have a new baby - gifts arrive in the mail and it is always so lovely to receive wonderful surprises from family and friends.  I know having a family of all girls makes it hard as everyone says "what do you buy someone who must have everything with all those girls".  Well today I received in the mail a fabulous gift which nobody has every thought of giving me before!  My friend Sandy who lives and Melbourne sent me this wonderful book called Cool Spaces for Kids.

It looks wonderful and is particularly perfect with us building a new house - I now have loads of ideas to help with the decorating of all the girls spaces in our new home!

Don't get me wrong I still love receiving beautiful pink clothes as a girl can never have too many outfits but this book is really something different that I will get use out of for years to come.  Thank you Sandy!

~ Bedroom dreaming ~

Dreaming of going to bed early for a change and came across this lovely image in the House and Garden Magazine - I'm inspired now so off to catch up on some sleep.

Rose scented soaps

Bathroom jars
Rose soap
A recent addition to my bathroom, I bought these decorative rose soaps in a small interior boutique. I'd needed to top up my etched bathroom jar due to the fact I'd used up most of the bath bombs in it, and I went for the rose design soaps as they match my delicate carved roses on the bathroom shelf.

~ A Stunning Success ~

Here are a few photos from last Saturday nights big event.  The fourth annual Stillbirth Foundation Australia Little Feet Taking Big Steps ball was a stunning success raising $80,000 on the evening.

Here are the wonderful and dedicated girls of the committee before the event was underway.

I even managed to stay awake for the entire event and enjoyed my first night out without the kids since Indiana arrived.  I am looking forward to next years event when I WILL have a new dress and not be bursting out of the top of it.

~ Glamourous Curtains ~

Time to start to think about curtains for our bedroom in the new house.  I love the style and fabric in these pictures below.  I am off this week to track down some nice fabric - if you know of one I might like would love to hear about it.

~ Saturday Night ~

The Fourth annual Stillbirth Foundation Australia's Little Feet Taking Big Steps Ball is on again this weekend in Sydney.

The night once again promises to be a wonderful evening and while I have had to take a tiny step back from planning the event this year I know how much time and effort goes into putting together a fundraiser.

We hope to raise some vital funds for research into Stillbirth and I am so proud to be involved in this wonderful foundation that is really making a difference to peoples lives.

I look forward to sharing more about the evening with you next week.

Enjoy your weekend!!

Amy Butler does the most beautiful printed fabrics for both interior and fashion use. I love the mix of colours and the way the collections all coordinate together; there is a kind of seventies retro cool to them.

You should check out her website for the most beautiful inspiring photos of what you can make with her fabrics. Not keen on sewing? Then check out Etsy for some beautiful handmade products you can buy.

~ Four Generations ~

What a lovely day we had today - the girls and I went to my mums so that Indiana could meet her Great Grandmother for the first time.

Here were are - all four generations of girls - how wonderful to have so many generations here.  My grandmother will be 90 in November, she has 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and next month will welcome her first great great grandchild.

Amazing!!

Candy Jars

The jars in my first pic are coffee jars from Douwe Egberts. The footed apothecary jar in my second and third pic is from Belle Epoque.

I love jars of candy, from the ones in old fashioned sweet shops to footed apothecary jars. So imagine my delight when a friend of mine showed me a pic of the Juicy Couture table in Selfridges which was covered in candy-filled jars, as an idea for her wedding. I thought "I'll help you!".

I'd also seen some candy jars in the window of Ralph Lauren in Hong Kong back in April (see above), so I started to search around to see what I could find.

In my search I came across the delightful pics above from Amy Atlas. You definitely should check out her website for the most beautiful candy tables, in an array of colours and themes, for weddings, birthdays and more.

Glass pedestal jars
It seems that the glass jars are a lot easier to get hold of stateside than here in the UK. However, I did find a great store called Chefs that ships all over the world and they do the lovely glass pedestal candy jars in varying heights above.

For my US readers who want to buy some glass jars please check out the above Candy Jars set in Polyvore for a selection of the candy jars I found in all shapes/sizes and prices.

~ Monday house update ~

Progress on the house has been fantastic.

We now have the first coat of paint on the exterior walls and while I love the colours I have chosen I am starting to think that maybe I should have made the main part of the house the feature colour the white should be the feature wall!  I need to make a decision this week but there is something that is just not right!

On the inside the painter has put up some samples of wall colours - I have decided to go with Dulus Lexicon for my walls as this is a really white white.  For the kitchen splash back and feature wall I am looking at Dulux Toffee Fingers. In the photo below it is the last colour on the right.

Timber floors are in and they look great.

And we finally have a staircase - no more ladder climbing which makes life so much easier.
