The Drinks Dispenser

I have had lots of emails about my drinks dispenser that was on display in this post here.

Believe it or not this dispenser was from a local variety shop or as we call it the $2 shop (not sure why we still call it that is nothing appears to be $2!)

I have spoken with them this week to see if they have any more and unfortunately they don't - if I come across any more I will be sure to post about it. The shop name is House to Home if you have one in your area.

Excavating the romantic in me...

Isn't this image by Sabino Aguad just the best fun? It makes my heart soar a little to think that someone was that original and romantic. It's got me thinking about romance and all the yummy things that go with it.

I am not a lover of traditional romance. I can't do contrived. I groan when I see a fella heading home with 12 red roses on Valentine's Day. I'm sure he's made his girl very happy, but it wouldn't be my scene at all.  For this reason, we didn't do a marriage proposal. I would have cringed at the awkward formality of it all. We simply decided to get married one day as we chatted on a long walk through the olive groves at LOML's Zia Archangela's farm in Italy. The romance of the setting was enough and our deciding to do it together was so us. It was perfect.

But the unexpected, the uniquely tailored, the just so uttterly you and no one else, is very welcome in my book. When LOML brings me Daphne just because it's my all time favourite fragrance. Or roses when I'm feeling blue, but never red because he knows I don't like them. Or the fact that he got down on bended knee and proposed  when we were on a cliff overlooking Monte Carlo, just because in his mind it was the perfect setting for a proposal and even though we're already engaged look, here we are, my love.

Romance for me is the fact that the last thing LOML does every single night is gives me a kiss, even if I'm sleeping (but obviously not quite asleep!). Romance is when he checks that all the doors are locked tight before heading up at night. It's when he gives me the last piece of chocolate, even when it's his favourite. Romance is when he tells me I look gorgeous every single day when clearly I do not.

Is it important to you that your fella is romantic? Where you proposed to? What kinds of things keep romance in your life?

A Polka Dot Nursery

I have a son! Oh wait, have I already mentioned that?

And I love decorating! But perhaps I have mentioned that previously also.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that boy things are (generally speaking) not always particularly inspired. Clothing, for instance... Blue robots. Blue trucks. Blue Aeroplanes. Blue blue blue. Blah blah blah. But now I have my own boy-o, I am challenging of uncovering and discovering unique and inspired designs outside the Thomas the Tank Engine cliche.

Today, I'm uncovering ideas for decorating a little boy's room or playspace. And as a time-poor mother of two, I'm looking no further than Etsy for my purchases, aside from the lamp which I sourced from My Messy Room.

The theme?

Polka Dots!

Here are some fun and handmade ideas for decorating a gorgeous brightly coloured polka-dot themed nursery for your little one. Just a bit of fun on a Wednesday. I hope you like!

At My House

~ My own little twist - at my work ~

Swimming was canceled this morning so Mr 2 (3 next week) got a special big play in the pool with mum this morning with dolls and boats - bit chilly but the sun was shining so it made a wonderful morning! While he had his daily sleep I set up a few play stations for us to play in the afternoon - 2 oldest kids had appointments so it was just us! He is OBSESSED with tools and building at the moment and that is all we play so I wanted to put out some different games and activities today just to mix it up a little bit! We had a fabulous day and a lot of fun!

~ We played on the car mat - with lots of crashing ~

~ with the train set - the cars had to help the crashing trains - is there a theme here? ~

~ We also worked on our numbers - Very Clever! ~

~ We ended the day off with a special blue bath ~

- A wonderful day of play at my house work today -

I leaned today that eating nutino straight out of the jar is not as good as nutella but is so yummy on bread! :P

I enjoyed a beautiful dinner out with my special friends tonight - I have not seen them in SO LONG because of my hours at work but it was so lovely to spend a few hours eating yummy food and catching up! They are expecting their first baby in January so its all very exciting!!!
