Red

I have a little spot in my house that seems to be the place I am constantly changing - most of these changes revolve around events and props.  I use this spot to practice putting dessert tables together.  The table itself is one of my favourite items of furniture in our house.

This week this spot has taken on a red theme after our cocktail party last week.  I moved the painting from our bedroom to the wall behind and have lots of red flowers in the house.

Some of my cake stands, glass domes and little bottles are currently residing on the table.

The beautiful red rose was painted by a very talented friend and looks great no mater where we hang it.

It is wonderful being able to change the theme of this area depending on what is happening in my life.

Do you have an area of your house that changes depending on what is going on in your world?

Woot Woooooooo!

It's LOML and my 9th wedding anniversary today. 3rd of the 3rd.

I'm the happiest married woman on the planet.  Yes, the very happiest. We drive our friends and family nuts with our PDAs and devoted adoration. I know. So cloying, so sickening, so annoying. But you can't stop the love train, people. You just can't.

I wore sneakers at one point on our wedding day.

I love him more than ice cream. And that is A LOT.

Whilst on a recent work trip to Paris I managed to sneak in a quick trip to Pierre Hermé, the French King of pastry who takes you on a journey into the world of tastes, sensations and pleasures. Every season he brings out new ideas and delights in cakes, desserts, chocolate, petit fours, macaroons and ice cream.

I chose a selection, which included the following:
  • Chuao, a pure origin Chuao dark chocolate, on one side and blackcurrant on the other with a blackcurrant berry ganache filling - my favourite!
  • Huile D'Olive and Mandarine, which is an olive oil green on one side and mandarin orange on the other, with a creamy mandarine ganache filling.
  • Mogador, a chocolate speckled yellow passion fruit macaron with a milk chocolate ganache filling.
  • Infiniment Chocolate, which is a brown chocolate speckled Venezuela Porcelana chocolate macaron - a chocolate lovers dream!
  • Creme Brulée, a peach coloured vanilla and caramel macaron.
  • Métissé, which is bright orange on one side, dark orange on the other and filled with a bright yellow ganache tasting of carrot, orange and cinnamon.

I just love the unusual flavours, and will have to be more adventurous with mine.

Have a sweet day!
