Many Thanks

It is so flattering to have other blogs feature something you have done so it with great pleasure I pass on my thanks to the following lovely gals who have featured Indi's party in the past few weeks.

our sweet treats...

The joy of cooking...my little one loves to eat, cook and mix. The minute that pink mixing bowl appears on the kitchen bench...you can hear sounds of joy!!! one of our favorite recipes on a Sunday morning is...
Donna Hay Pancakes

1 1/2 cup self raising flour
1/2 cup caster sugar * i don't use this much
3 eggs
30g unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place the flour and sugar in a bowl and make a well in the centre. Place the eggs, butter, milk and vanilla in the well and stir with a wooden spoon until smooth. Allow the mixture to stand for 10 - 15 minutes. Heat a lightly greased pan over low heat, cook and flip the pancakes.
Sometimes we mix raspberries, blueberries or banana's into the mixture - and we like to eat them with berries, ricotta cheese and honey. We have fun using little cutters to make shapes, numbers and letters with the pancakes - i like the idea of introducing these concepts to my little one in a light hearted and creative way!

Craft is the new Green?

You know how I'm a little bit crafty? Well, I'm wriggling with envy over some of the fabulously unique blogs out there. And what is just so particularly special is how generous these wonderful people are with their time and experience (have you noticed how many generous souls there are here online? It's heartwarming, isn't it?). There are tutorials galore, patterns, tips and a patient friend to guide you. Even if you're not so crafty yourself, the celebration of all that is aesthetically pleasing will be worth the visit alone.

Warning, you'll die a little inside, but check out these for starters:

Draw! Pilgram
The Lark Blog

Handmade Love
Grand Revival Designs
Kootoyoo
Noodlehead
Mira Narnie

Oh, how I'm loving these clever clogs. And just a little bit loathing, you know? I wish I was half as clever. Actually, I think envy is kraft, not green*.

* Must I go on with these terrible puns?!

Etsy Discovery - Nooshka Designs!

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a lovely weekend... Browsing idly through Etsy last night, I discovered this gorgeous little pillow that I thought would be just too sweet on Fern's little daybed (when she moves into it later this year):

Isn't it cute? After this discovery, it seemed terribly remiss not to check out what other treasures this store had to offer... and what treasures I found! The store is called Nooshka, and the best part is, she's an Australian designer hailing from the Gold Coast! Check out Casey's Etsy store here and here are a few more samples of her work to whet your whistle:

US$48
US$59
US$75
US$59
US$14

I'm off to Ikea today with both husband and baby (a sure recipe for disaster)... gotta buy a new chest of drawers for Fern's bedroom so the new baby can inherit her little cane drawers but I wonder what else I might come home with?! Have a great week... x

Sunday Citar - Belief

Tabitha @ Fresh Mommy hosts the Sunday Citar meme. Why don't you join in?

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent - Eleanor Roosevelt

It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not - Anonymous

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light
from within - Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

So this week will you allow your light to shine?

Will you achieve all you are capable of achieving?

Will you let people see the light within - the love, the joy, the happiness, the strength?

Throw off the shackles that bind, the ones that we ourselves impose and just SHINE!!!
