wordless wednesday

More Wordless Wednesday here.

Wednesday Wishlist - Oroton

One can never have too many bags is my motto so when I visited my local Oroton store recently not only did I find a bag and a wallet that I needed to add to my wish list but a key ring, scarf, bracelet, some lingerie and well why not another bag or two!

I think my stocking is somewhat full however so I may need to save this wish list for my birthday!

"Zoom Zoom" in NYC

This is a photo I took while in NYC this past September. When I saw Trendy Treehouse's theme for this week I knew I wanted to participate and the exact picture I wanted to use. The cab drivers are absolutely crazy and fast! And just look at all the people zooming by.
So I think it fits the theme perfectly!

This was my second choice because I had to zoom zoom my camera (which at the time had 20x zoom) to get this picture while standing on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Emma & Tom's Christmas Fun Run

Tomorrow night, as a family we are doing a special fun run to help raise money for the awesome Peter MacCallum Centre here in Melbourne.
If you've had a loved one touched by Cancer then no doubt you've been here and know of the remarkable work they do.
The husband has signed me up for the run (rather than the walk) which should be interesting :) Please Mr Weatherman be nice to us so we can enjoy the evening.
If you would like to help us in our quest to raise some $$ you can donate to the cause through this link
and a BIG Thank you to those who already have!

Eric Carle Fabric... Reviving my Sewing Mojo!

When you see this image, do you immediately recognise it as being synonymous with that gorgeously simple, educational and brilliantly illustrated world of Eric Carle?

We actually don't own the most famous of his books,  The Very Hungry Caterpillar, but Fern just might find it in her stocking this Christmas! We do own a couple of the others though, including a little miniature box-set of hard cover booklets that Fern quite literally carries around and stares at for hours. With just one image on each page, this book has gone a long way to assisting Fern to recognise scores of animals and I constantly find these little books all about the house...

Then, yesterday I made an exciting fabric discovery...

A quick google search revealed some very funky designs using these fabrics:

Isn't that little girl's dress just the absolute sweetest?

... and I got to thinking - couldn't you design an awesome and gender neutral nursery from this range of fabrics? Covered lampshades... curtains... cot quilts... the ideas are endless! Well, the ideas are endless, but unfortunately the spare hours in my day are not.

But with resolve for the new year, I'm off to Etsy (unless you know somewhere local I can source it inexpensively) to see if I can buy me some of this fabric, I really really want to make Elliott a little pair of nappy covers out of the spotted fabric and a little matching decorated singlet from the caterpillar cutout. Wouldn't that just be the cutest on little Eli? Surely I can manage that?!
