My Best Shot

Bailey

The Paper Mama

I have a few favorites from recent shoots so it was hard to pick a winner. In the end I chose this one because I love the simplicity, the color, clarity, and her sweet little face. Such a pure moment with her mom.

Wish me luck!

And just because, here are some others I considered.

Give Me Everything Tonight

I LOVE this song!

If I could exercise this would be my song right now!
Most of its sexually related but I love these lyrics...

"For all we know we might not get tomorrow...Let's do it tonight!"

That's all I hear when listening to the song! That's how we should all live each day!

It makes me want to go out and dance!
I makes me want to go for a run!
:-(
Hopefully soon my ankle will get it's act together so I can be me again!

Photography Challenge

Hello everyone - I seem to have had a few weeks of technical issues - not ideal when you life revolves around technology, writing a blog and launching a new online store!  First blogger locked me out for a week and then last weekend the phone lines went down in our street meaning no internet access for four days!

Technical dramas solved today I thought I would share with you my latest fun with photography - I joined in with a 30 day photography challenge hosted by White Peach Photography.

The idea is to take one photo a day based around the topic of the day.  We began last week on the 1st June so here is my first weeks worth of photos!  These photo's have been taken on a combination of my digital SLR and my iphone (using instagram - my latest obsessions!)

What will week two bring!  If you would like to find out more visit White Peach Photography here.

fruit and a few good links...

So I've decided to start calling Blogger "Dogger" because it keeps biting me in the ass. I know other bloggers are feeling the pain. Grievances aside, I wanted to share a few lovely links:

1. From Me To You: I'm probably the last person to discover Jamie Beck, the NY mega fashionista model photographer/blogger. Usually not one to go gaga for celebrity, but my jaw pretty much dropped when I saw the quality of her photography, the people and places she photographs and well.. just how incredibly stunning she is. Check out these animated cinemagraphs and see how many famous faces you can spot in this post. Yep, she's the photographer rubbing shoulders with the legendary likes of Grace Coddington. Also love the daily outfit she sported each day while shooting NY fashion week 2011 - the smokin' siren photographer turns model ...again.

2. The Sweet Light: Closer to my reality. A mum who takes photographs. Only Azzari's photography is incredible, she achieves beautiful results with film and has an Etsy shop to lose yourself in. She photographs her subjects (paper lanterns, peonies, babies and cupcakes) in such a dreamy, fresh and original way - she has a unique eye for simple beauty. Then she writes posts like this one where the words almost outshine the photographs. The hubby and I both have this blog in our reader list.

3. Mocking Bird: I am a broken record when it comes to singing Amanda's praises. Started following this blog because it was lovely and her work inspiring. But as it turns out, she is also a mentor (has a teaching background), a facilitator and a navigator. She's that person you'd want to travel with, someone whose has their finger on the pulse. At the beginning of the year she started Twelve, now she's about to launch an online course (need some spare cash) and I keep getting sucked into the posts that catapult you into someone's great idea for a blog post theme , or a cute couple's creative melting pot.

That's it for now. Hope everyone is is having a good week? I'm off to reset my widgets...

This week for my 'shops i love' page, I bring you the quirky eclectic brand of vintage-inspired wares by Petra Boase.

Petra Boase graduated from Manchester University with a textile degree in 1990. From there she went on to present the popular interior show 'Change That' on the BBC, whilst at the same time styling lifestyle editorials for popular interior magazines. In 2000 she started her Petra Boase range with collage canvases and greeting cards. Since then it has grown into a large collection including home textiles of lampshades, tea towels and tablecloths. She also does the prettiest patterned sticky tapes, notebooks and notecards, knitted toys, mugs and wall art.

Have a sweet day!
