How to look good naked

Hang on for a moment as we wildly steer Maxabellaland into M rated territory. It's not quite what you think (but then, it never is, is it?)

I've been interested recently to see more and more shows of the How to Look Good Naked variety. I've never actually watched this particular programme, but I've seen a couple of Carson Kressleys and, of course, Trinny and Susannah have made an appearance at some stage. And I have theory. Of course I have a theory. What is life without a theory?

My theory is that I think women often turn themselves off sex.

In my experience, men don't care how fat or thin or hairy or white or wrinkly or crumply you are. They don't see the flaws. They're too busy focusing on the bits that turn them on to worry about the bits that don't. Got a good arse? That's what they're looking at. Pretty eyes? They can't take their own off them to look elsewhere. Boobs? Just boobs? Utterly mesmerised.

It's the women who are thinking 'I don't look good enough' and 'I need to lie this way so he doesn't see that'.  They're focusing on all the negative bits that they perceive are a turn off to men so... guess what... they actually get turned off themselves!

So, how do you look good naked? You act good naked. You don't ever talk about your body negatives to your partner, you just talk up the bits you like. I can never get over why women need to obsess over the negatives to their partners. Why does he need to know what you think of your thunder thighs or that you think your stomach is too floppy? All he needs to know is that you have the sexiest boobs / arse / ankles / ears / whatevers in the world. And you're not afraid to use them.

Then you strut your fine stuff all over the room and you own sexy. There's absolutely no reason why you're not as alluring as a picture-perfect model. Sex and nakedness isn't just about bodies, it's about suggestion, enticement, yearning, heat, promise... we could go on. Turn onto acting like you look good naked and pretty soon you'll find that you really, really do. A lot.

Are you happy naked? Got any tips for increasing body confidence? Or are you a bit shy to talk about stuff like this?

* Not my own arse. Mine is twice as wide... but don't tell LOML that, right?!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Another busy weekend for this girl. Whew, I am so looking forward to not doing a thing this weekend! I can't complain though- it was a good one! Friday night was girls night.. which these days consist of dinner, drinks, and a movie. A bunch of girls were missing this time but we still had a great night.
Ruby Relaxers, Blackberry Rum Runners, and Georgia Peach Martini's
were consumed.

We saw The Social Network. It was definitely one of my favorite movies that I've seen recently.
A really good movie.. a must see.

Saturday Hub and I got up early to spend the day with his Grandma. She has been asking for us two to come down for awhile and we finally had a free day to do so. It was the most perfect, beautiful day. Honestly I don't think the weather could have been any better. We went out to a local restaurant in her area called Pirate's Cove. We sat outside, waterfront, over-looking The West River. Grandma and I started the meal off with Screwdrivers, then we all devoured some sort of crab dish! Crab Cake, Crab Imperial, Fried Shrimp and more. Delicious!

After lunch, Hub, Grandma, and I walked out onto the dock to snap a few photos for mementos.

Grandma is one of the sweetest, kindest ladies you will ever meet.
Below is a view front her front porch, amazing.
After lunch we sat there and chatted about anything and everything, from more serious topics to the show Teen Mom, which I was thoroughly surprised Grandma watches and could tell you everyones name, their child's name, and their situation!
We watched as neighborhood kids played on her nearby playground and people sat out on the dock. Neighbors strolled along the waterfront, walking their dogs, exercising, riding mopeds. All taking in the day.
And as shade slowly took over the yard the herons danced across the water and the sailboats came in.
There were enough to nearly fill the entire horizon. A gorgeous view.
It was such a wonderful day and I enjoyed every minute listening to Grandma's stories and spending time with her. I hope that we can do that again soon.

On Sunday my sister hosted a 'Thirty One' party. They specialize in personalized bags, purses, and totes. Though they also sell home accents and kids items. I had never heard of this them before but really liked their products and ended up getting a lunch tote in my choice of pattern and wording. They are very cute!

After leaving there I hurried home with a friend to meet up with our Hubs and watch the second half of the Redskin vs. Packers game. Ah, another nail-bitting end, but a Win is a Win!

In other news, I am hosting my first party soon; a Scentsy Party! I'm pretty excited about this :) If you're interested in Scentsy but need an consultant here is the web site to a good friend of mine who sells it! If you've never heard of Scentsy then I suggest you also click the link above! I really love what I have bought so far!

Hops: leave a comment so I can follow back :)
BWS tips buttonTo-the-TOP Tuesday

If you had 5 minutes...

Tonight my husband came home from cricket and asked me to do him a big favour over the next few days. Great I thought - feed the chickens, feed the snake, clean his smelly shoes, the endless 'yukky' jobs that he normally takes care of ran through my mind. But nope, not this time. He wants me to pack up a few small boxes of irreplaceable and special items of ours that can be picked up and thrown into the car in a single minute. Bless his heart he is so thoughtful and serious about our life together and knows me all too well. As he grew up in the scouts he is very world smart and is the man of the land. He has the biggest green thumb I have ever seen! With all this rain we are having and the threatening floods that have been surrounding and happening around us he feels we should be prepared,,,just in case. He told me that it wasn't too serious and he didn't want me to get too out of control but you never know what is around the corner and because of the weather and the location our house is in he doesn't want to take the chance.

Well well well...have you ever been in this situation. Have you ever had to sit back, look around your home and think what on earth can I select that can fit into a FEW small boxes. I am such a hoarder sentimental kind of girl and the thought of having to choose my most special possessions really stresses me out. The chances of our house flooding is probably 4:10 but just in case that 4 happens I guess I am very thankful for my husband for thinking of me and preparing us. He knows I am a keeper and if any of our stuff gets ruined he knows that I would be absolutely devastated. So tonight we sat down and made a "just in case our house gets flooded what will we do and what will we take" plan. Even though we were laughing the whole time thinking how ridiculous it all sounded it was good to sit down and work as a team and make a plan. Of course the first things we would get together and take are our SIXTEEN pets. OMG robs car will be packed with the animals - the chickens the dogs and the cat better learn to get along and fast hahaha. Robs main concern was his fish haha im sure the bucket will do! Our next task is taking pictures of all of our belongings and furniture etc for insurance purposes...yes when we do a task we do it well haha nothing will be left unturned. Although when writing this I am actually feeling a little silly but then I think back to the news reports of people up north with their houses flooded and their homes and possessions destroyed by the water. I guess you can't control mother nature but we will try and be prepared for the worst.  My next task over the next few days is gathering our VERY SPECIAL items that can not be replaced. Photo Albums, birth certificates, wedding certificates, passports, diaries, journals, drawings - oh my gosh my list goes on. Rob and I have different views on whats important and replaceable. Rob said our encyclopedias can be replaced but they are my grandmas and she gave them to me out of 20 grandchildren because she knows they are special to me...how can I leave them behind in a flood.

I guess I really have to be serious and have to think if I had 5 minutes to grab all I can...what would I take. everything in our home is special to me. Everything has a place in my heart. Everything has a memory. Ill see how I go! But I know this job is going to be very very hard. WISH ME LUCK!!!

Have you got an emergency plan? or are we the only crazies!!!

I used the black & white stripe masking tape to cover the sticks, and the lace tape to seal the small sandwich bags around the candy apples that I had placed in cupcake cases.

Have a candy sweet day!

It has been one of those days....rain, rain go away!
It has been raining non stop now for what feels like weeks!
I was able to snap these photos of my little prince when the sun came out for all of 10 minutes.

Buttons, glitter, paint and gems made up this rather fine crown....it's fun to craft in the rain!

I have to say the little prince is rather proud of his master piece! (so is his mummy) x

Happy Tuesday .... x
