a little slice of Italy

if i closed my eyes & tried hard enough i could have felt like i was actually in Italy. the Italian waiters had thick Italian accents. the menu had that authentic look & lists of authentic cuisine.

the pizza was just like it should be. tasty. fresh. big enough to be shared around the table. {mine had pureed broccoli & mozzarella & sausage meat. excellent combo!}

the shelves are covered in authentic Italian produce. i could have spent hours browsing the store & lots of money to take favourites home.

it's on my 'dream big' list. to spend some time in Italy. the last time i was there i was only 6 months old. but until then this is a little slice of Italy to visit while still on Australian shores.

Can't get enough of Instagram

I have been taking part in the January photo a day challenge hosted by Chantelle from Fat Mum Slim - you may have seen a few photo's pop up each day on Facebook.  I am always looking for a new photo challenge so decided to join this one for a bit of fun but the day before I signed up my new fancy camera decided to malfunction! So I had a change of plan and decided to use my iPhone and instagram to participate in this challenge.  I have had instagram on my phone for a while but only used it occasionally but have noticed how wonderful the images in my feed are from regular instagramer's so I set another challenge -  to see if I could capture some great shots on my phone.

To my delight I have found a whole new world of people and photo's to follow and I now check in regularly throughout the day to update my daily life via instagram and also find out what everyone is up to in pictures - it really is such a fun app and I am amazed at how incredible it can make your photo's look.

So here is a snapshot of January via my instagram feed - will post my January photo challenge photo's at the end of the month.

Are you on instagram? - leave a comment for me so I can follow you.  You can find me under @sweetstyle

Ferm Living Spring 2012

Ferm Living Spring 2012

Today on label love I wanted to show you the gorgeous new treasures from another of my favourite interior brands, Ferm Living. I am loving the pretty chic colour palette of rose pink and shades of mint and teal. The signature geometric print looks great on trays, cushions and ceramics. The whimsical wallpapers look fresh and new, and the display boxes in an array of colours look great on the dove grey wall. I am coveting said display boxes and the stackable jars.

Cloudberry Living in the UK stocks a a large choice of Ferm Living, from wallpapers and cushions to the cute house wall shelves and knitted vases.

Here's how the gorgeous collection looked at the Top Drawer interior show this week.
