I'm tempted to have my headline and put a picture of my family in this post and leave it at that. My family makes me ooze with happiness most of the time. Of course, sometimes they're just a massive, weighty boulder that I have to lug and push and shove everywhere I go. Literally, in the case of the Badoo.
I dabbled with
purpose in my last post, but of course I've always known it's really
grateful. That regardless of how big that boulder sometimes seems, my family opens the door to happiness for me and being grateful for them is the key.
They give my life meaning.
They give my life colour.
They give my life joy.
They give my life a reason.
They fill my life with love until it overflows and I have to clean it up because no one else around here is going to do it.
So, happiness to me is encapsulated in being grateful that they are here. That I get to hang out with them. That they love me, regardless. That they exist around me and because of me and in me and through me and sometimes despite me and to spite me.
That they drive me to the brink of crazy and then they drive me home again. Always home.
That's what happiness looks like for me. I'm (as ever) just so bloody, endlessly grateful.
Can you think of a word that above all else sums up how you feel about your family?
