No Photos Allowed... :(

So I couldn't get any snaps today :( but here is one I lifted from the Channel 10 site of... ME :) Yep - today a girlfriend and I got babysitters and went to be in the audience of The Circle - just for a little fun!

I really don't get to watch it all that often but find I am always having a great chuckle when I catch a bit here and there - what a funny show and It was so great to see behind the scenes. There are so many people involved and Chrissy, Gorgie, Yumi (hubbie's fav.) and Denise make it look all so effortless. Honestly if you get a chance to go - Do it... you will have a blast especially if you can fit in a child free lunch and walk around Chapel street as well.

Healthy benefits

 I recently finished some commercial
photography for a local chiropractic clinic.

They were after images to display
& help clients better understand
some of their products.

I was handed a box of powders, drops
& cleaning products
& asked to come up with some
interesting eye catching photo's.

Once I added the text
the posters were complete
& ready to display

Today I am just loving...

A dear friend of mine recently travelled to Brittany in France to spend time with her family. We finally caught up today for morning tea and just look at what she gifted my little man. Firstly a gift was not necessary...but pleased as punch that she did! It is seriously divine...Brittany is famous for this particular fishing shirt how amazing it would be to hire a little wooden row boat and drift about slowly wearing one of these divine shirts! check out the website if you have time for more sailing inspiration. I love the women's canvas handbags and espadrilles and my little man would look to cute in the bachi, pompon hat. Happy sailing...

Thoughtful Thursday

"Now and then it's good to pause in pursuit of happiness and just be happy"

Guillaume Apollinaire

So love this quote but do need to be reminded constantly! Enjoy your Thursday.

Off with the birdies...

I love decorating with a birdy motif. I don't know why. It just sort of grew organically with the purchase of some gorgeous bird cards for Cappers' bedroom a few years ago. Suddenly there were birds flying all over the house.

If I told you that this was just some of my birds, would you be worried for me?

I love them all. They feel happy. They make me smile.

Are you a 'collector' of something? Did it just 'happen' like my birdies or did you deliberately set out to gather a certain type of thing?

August

August is always an open book for us, surprisingly for a summer month it's pretty uneventful. So while we have the extra time I've decided to tackle a few 'back burner' items. I'm finally getting my car's bumper fixed, which was hit last December. It was a hit and run right outside my work window. I saw the whole thing. The guy was turning around in our parking lot, in reverse he slammed right into my car, literally lifting my car up. We have cameras and went back to try and get the license plate number, but go figure the camera had condensation that morning, so the number was blurry! It's a deductible out of my pocket that I've been putting off! However, we're looking to get a new vehicle soon so I need to get it done.

We've also been working on getting our roof, siding, and shutters repaired from the hail storm. Good news is our insurance company came out and is approving all of it, no cost to us! So we'll have a whole new outside! I actually wasn't even going to call because I thought it wasn't that much damage, so glad I did. That's a lot of money we're saving, and good for resale. The makeover should happen in approx. 2 weeks!

Also, we have been planning a mini vacation for some time in the next couple months. Hopefully we will get that booked soon! And finally, Hubby was lucky enough to get a new shift for the next five weeks where he will be home for week-day dinners! This has never happened in the three years we've been in our house, or even before then for that matter. So I've been really trying to UP my cooking; Looking at new ideas and trying out different ingredients. I'm most excited I won't have to put his portion in a Tupperware, and we can eat together! It's the little things that make me happy! :)

This week for my 'shops i love' page I bring you the delightful Danish brand, Lisbeth Dahl. This year's Autumn/Winter collection is called "A journey through a Magical Universe" and what a magical journey it is just looking at the catalogue; filled with pretty, shiny, shimmery objects, plush cushions and beautifully engraved patterns.

On my wish list is one of their pretty etched glass lidded cake stands.

Enjoying the moment...

Today I watched three little boys set up camp. It was with such happiness that I observed them create fun out of leaves, water, sticks and stones. A butterfly was caught and inspected through the magnifying glass and once this was done it was released with care. A tent was erected and a picnic mat made into a balcony, buckets filled and the red wagon parked next to the tent set the scene. Three little cousins playing side by side...laughing and yelling, smiling and sharing little bowls of pop corn and eating Nana's fruit cake. Boys slowing down and enjoying each other as they always do with such anticipation and joy. I know I have to just enjoy it, before they leave to go back overseas to live. It's hard though, hard not to feel sad. Sadness for three little boys who just love to play and cuddle and wrestle. I know I just have to enjoy these moments...
