Cheap and cheerful bunting...

Plastic pirate floor mat bunting (waterproof for the garden) this requires no sticking along the triangles as it does not frey at all.

Recycled tin can bunting (a fun way to display fresh herbs or flowers) I made this one for a hens night last weekend. I am looking to recycle it again for my sons 2nd birthday party next weekend - with fabric and stickers with the number 2 on them.

Plastic table runner lace bunting (i made this one for my sister in law's baby shower a couple of months back) very easy and no sewing required as i used glue tape and hand stitched the ribbon to the top sections of the squares.

Happy Birthday bunting from last years 1st birthday party (my very first attempt) I used iron on lettering from Spotlight and didn't even get time to sew the edges...lucky for me they didn't frey! (yet) I will get around to doing this some time soon.

My Son's nursery...I really wanted vintage inspired bunting and could not find anything that I loved anywhere. I wanted it to be just right! So I found the fabric and had a friend make it for me...that is when I first fell for bunting. And bought my own sewing machine!

Day Two- 31 in 31

Preparing for Game Day!
Day Two Photo

Our new Jersey's arrived in the mail today!

Hubby has been a die-hard Redskin fan since he was able to view a television. By the time he could talk he was able to name almost every player on the team at the current time, really, no joke (a story heard many times from the in-laws!) My Dad was also an avid Redskin football fan, and I grew up watching and rooting for our home team. Needless to say, football season is a very big deal in our household. Nearly a whole room (our computer room) is dedicated to the Redskins... there is everything from helmets, mini-helmets, stadium replicas, trolls (yes odd I know), figurines, magazines, posters, photos, saved ticket stubs, lamps, blankets...the list goes on and on. September through January consumes A LOT of my husband, but he loves it. And I love it ...

I love the season, early fall, crisp air,
the get-together's, with family, with friends,
the smell of hearty food cooking in the oven.
I love the cheering, the shouting,
and the proud wearing of burgundy and gold,
Win, or Lose.

SOOO......
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!!

I felt the need to end this post with a photo of Baby Hub  :)

This Saturday I'm grateful for... rainshine

Here in Maxabellaland, Saturday is traditionally a sport, shop, sort the clothes, sweep the floors, strangle the Tsunamis (insert other 's' words here - no pun intended) kinda day. But on Maxabella loves... I thought it would be grounding to make Saturday my 'grateful' day.

This Saturday, I'm grateful for...

1. Rain. It's rained and rained and rained and rained around here lately. Which, ho hum, is good for the dam levels and the farmers and the trees and all that. I love it though, because it cleans things up nicely so that when the sun breaks through, everything sparkles.

2. Birthdays! I had the best birthday yesterday. Brand new bike = West Side Story at the Lyric Theatre with the handsome LOML = Bourke Street Bakery cookbook = fun crazy desk thanks to my awesome workmates = Tsunami sleepover at the Nonnis = happiness.

3. Honesty. Doesn't matter if I don't like or agree with what you have to say. I respect and admire you for saying it.

Friday Favorite - The Enchanted Forest

My lovely and talented friend Sharnel from My Life My Loves created the most amazing Woodland Fairy Party for her beautiful daughter Olivia's 6th Birthday last weekend. If you haven't had a chance to pop over to her blog to see all the amazing details (including one amazing dessert table and a real life deer and bunny!) then go there now!! In the meantime here are some of the wonderful photos to get your weekend off to a happy start.
