flowers

make the day that bit sunnier

my little 2 year old chose these to be on display in her bedroom she keeps telling me she wants them to stay forever but sadly they won't so she will have a chance to chose some different ones next time!

Stuff I like

Stuff White People Like never fails to raise a chuckle and, of course, a mirror. It amuses me that I'm so White it's not even funny (!).

Take TED (which I am obsessed with) or Banksy (whose 'work' I admire) or  Vespas (which I despair I never owned pre-Tsunamis) or Grammar (I won't shop where apostrophes aren't served). Then there's Sushi (which I have somewhat embarrassingly written a love story to here), Gentrification (rough suburb puts on make-up but you can still see the well-worn creases) and Appearing To Enjoy Classical Music (because I do... no, really).

Then, like all White People, there is the stuff that I say I'm into, but I don't really get and I don't actually like. Things like Rugby (boofs jumping on boofs), Bob Marley ( ... ), Coffee (the idea of pouring milk into brown water makes me feel a little bit sick) and Organic Food (I just don't see the point of insisting on only organic vegetables and then hoovering down a Snickers).

There are the things I think are interesting but never get around to doing like Farmers' Markets (see Organic Food above), Not Having a TV (I can't miss Wife Swap), Vintage (too much detective work and delayed gratification involved) and Marijuana (because that would be illegal).

And the things that I find genuinely perplexing: Gifted Children (because they all are, aren't they?), Double-barrelled surnames (what actually happens when two double-barrels marry each other?) Moleskine Notebooks (and over-priced branded stuff in general) and Marathons (although, of course, any day now...).

So, hey, I'm a White Person and I find it very, very amusing to poke fun at me.

Are you White? What's some of the Stuff you Like?

Pictures from the Weekend

My apologies in advance for all those suffering from 'baby fever'...
I just can't stop taking pictures of my beautiful niece..
I mean especially since I wanted to play with my new camera anyway!
Which I am 100% in LOVE with. I can't put that thing down.
(Kisses from big brother- He ALWAYS puckers :)
I'm awake! (for like two minutes!)

Roxy giving her Daddy a hug. She loves him.

Saturday I went to a Shutterfly Party and Sunday I hosted a Scentsy Party!!
It was so much fun and we did very well! Thanks everyone!
(I was caught off guard below!)

Roxy's not used to big flash on this camera yet...haha
Scruff mutt :)
All these pictures are untouched. I uploaded them on my work computer since I need to get an adapter for my home laptop for the new memory card. I can't wait to edit some pictures from the new camera though!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Week-a-Boo

Better late then never...

My weekend was filled with catch-ups, BBQ's, Tupperware, date night, pinks and purples, little girls, frills, celebrations, learning and LOVE.

On Saturday I went to a Tupperware party and bought my first piece of Tupperware. Yes Yes I am a bit behind in the times. We have a lot of Tupperware around the home thanks to my mother in law who has given us left them here but I have never been a huge Tupper girl and bought anything. On Saturday however I thought I'd help my girlfriend out and buy a piece to help towards her total. It wasn't much but I bought a drink bottle and I got a bag for $3 which is made entirely out of recycled plastic bottles. I think I only bought the drink bottle to get the bag hahah I can't wait to get it though! It's goign to be so handy for work!

Saturday night Rob and I went out for dinner together! Huge work hours and a busy social calender (hahah I know I know toot my own horn miss popular) have kept us apart over the past few weeks so a little cheeky dinner was on the cards to spend some nice time together! Even though the entire night was based around should or shouldn't we buy a new car it was lovely to just to get out and simply 'hang out'

Sunday was a big and special day in Robs family...my new family. Our gorgeous little niece 'Makayla' was baptised. It was held in the "Greek orthodox church" and was such a beautiful day and a wonderful experience for me. I am catholic and have been to my fair share of christenings and baptisms but this was very new to me and I loved watching and learning all of the traditions and customs of the Greek religion. My sister in law is Greek and has a big very big family and it was so amazing to be apart of that and meet all of the cousins and aunties and brothers and more cousins and aunties. I felt welcomed and loved and it was just beautiful. The church was just divine and the reception was themed pink and purple and princess..perfect for a precious little girl. Here are a few photos from the special day!

~ I got these little pants made for her - they have her initials and our family motto I MAK SICCAR which means 'I Make Sure" This way she had a little bit of our "K" family with her on the day ~

I hope you all had a beautiful weekend that was filled with lots of fun and love

my husband has been asking me what I would like for my birthday
(which is a couple of weeks before Christmas)
he asked me this morning again
as he was on his way to work
while I was still trying to comprehend that it was actually morning time
I said I would like a surprise
but he said he needs some ideas
so I said I would make him a list!
while browsing lots of online stores
I came across these gorgeous, simple pieces
from
