the school case

During my last visit home, I asked mum if she had any "old stuff" I could pilfer. Her first response was,"Paula, we're not dead just yet", then she took me to the shed to see what we could rustle up. Well dear web friends, I'm pleased to report that a Santa sack load of goodies made its way back to old Sydney town. The "vintage objects" inventory now sports:

- A brown 'Globite' school case
- Two petite perfume bottles
- A pair of long evening gloves
- A handmade lace bedspread
- Two ladies headscarves - one white lace and one black lace
- A set of metal measuring spoons
- A rusty blanket box key
- A copy of 'Paradise Lost' by John Milton
- A delicate pink translucent bag
- Two Aynsley (bone china) cup and saucer sets

This school case is certainly one of the highlights. It belonged to one of mum's older brothers, is in great condition and the name sticker is still intact. Can't wait to take some more photos and share them with you.

Welcome 2011

Well a new year and a small make-over here .  I have lots of plans underway and lots to look forward to in the coming months.  While my new business Sweet Style is up and running, the past week has been a little surreal for all living in Australia and I have not really felt like I should be blogging about all things pretty while parts of Australia are submerged in water.  We are blessed to be in a part of the country that is not directly affected by the floods in Queensland, northern NSW and now Victoria but with so much devastation it is has been hard to think of anything else.

So today some pictures of things to be grateful for - family, fun, the first book I have had an opportunity to read for a long time and even a cute koala who was living in the tree out the front of our house - all on our recent holiday a few hours north of Sydney.
I hope you like the small changes to my blog - the new header and change to the layout just a few of the new things to happen to kick off the year.

I look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday: Roxy Style

UPDATE: I have no idea why my pictures aren't showing up in Internet Explorer. I work through Google Chrome but I've never had this problem before. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?! Thanks! FIXED!

For this week's scavenger hunt I decided to do it Roxy style. She's my main victim subject anyway :) Lately I've been slightly unmotivated to pick up my camera but that will change tomorrow when my beautiful new lens arrives so stay tuned!
