Part one...

This little beach getaway was my parents...we crashed it for a couple of days and so pleased we did. They found a little beach cottage gem. Filled with nostalgic charm and endless water views...i love details and this little cottage was filled with so many lovely details. Huge seashells holding back the doors to every room, recycled furniture, wooden boats perched on crooked shelves, vintage books,  hooks holding deckchairs, pale blues mosaic tiles filled the bathroom and worn wooden floor boards with gaps holding bucket loads of salty sand.

Delight as we watched a group of dolphins play in the waves...it made his afternoon and he keeps talking about them.

Gorgeous...........i know!

The fairy Collection (updated)

At her recent Christening, The Badoo received a Tinkerbell dress, DVD and doll from her Zia Lucia.* Maxi-Taxi was fascinated by the story on the DVD and then overjoyed when he discovered that Cappers already owned two Tinkerbell dolls. Instantly, he had three fairy dolls, which is all Maxi-Taxi needs to be off and away into the Land of Imagination. That boy just loves a Collection.

This morning he cautiously asked what I thought of him taking the fairy Collection into school to play with at Big Lunch.  The conversation went a little like this:

M-T: I'm thinking of taking in the Fairy Collection to school to play with at Big Lunch.

Me: That sounds fun. (Thinking: Oh dear lord, does he not want any friends?)

M-T: Well, I don't think the boys will want to play with them...

Me: Hmmmm... maybe not. (Are you crazy? I'm not usually hung-up on gender specific toys, but believe me you'll be the laughing stock of the entire boy part of the school!)

M-T: They might laugh at me.

Me: They might. (What, is he reading my mind now? He's SUCH a strong, confident, loving... of course he's not reading my mind... different child...)

M-T: I could play by myself, or with the girls... no, not with the girls, but by myself.

Me: Yes, that could be fun. (There is nothing wrong with playing by yourself at school. There is nothing wrong with playing by yourself at school. There is...)

M-T: So should I take them in?

Me: Well, you know the boys might laugh and want to play something else but you've decided you could play by yourself... so you can make your mind up knowing what you know.

M-T: Okay, I'll take them in.

Me: Good decision (Oh no). You'll enjoy playing with them (ALONE). Just grab a bag to put them in... ah, okay, the pink bag is a good idea. (Forgodsake we have to have a pink bag too!?). Enjoy yourself, Sonshine.

And off to school he went.

And I sit here wondering... how is my boy doing?

* Zia never misses an extravagant gifting opportunity!

Postscript

How the boy was doing...

Okay, so apparently Tinkerbell and Friends have poisonous wings that kill you as soon as they brush past your face. And their eyes shoot out bolts that paralyse your body and make foam come out of your mouth. And they like wrestling. They are battleaxe fairies.

Apparently, the boy brigade couldn't get enough of them...

EDIT: Yay we found the source of this fab photo. It's by Scott Wills and the sweet fairy dust was made by his talented wife Thanks for letting me know. Tumblr and weheartit are the place to go for unsourced photos. Not good!

Operation Shield

I often say I want to move out of this area I live in. The people can be rude and the traffic can be terrible. But yesterday I was proud. Today I am proud. You see, we had a nineteen year old fallen Solider come home to be buried in peace. But a group called Westboro Baptist Church out of Kansas came to protest the funeral. Yes, protest a Solider's funeral. With sign such as "Thank God for dead Soldiers" "God hates fags" "God hates America" "Thank God for 9/11"... I won't go on. It's despicable. It's disgusting. There are children with this group holding these signs, protesting. Their strong belief is that our fallen heroes are dying because God has grown angry with America because it is too permissive towards homosexuality.

The church posted the following notice to picket at Honeycutt's funeral on their website:
WBC to picket the funeral of Lance Cpl. Terry E. Honeycutt, JR. to remind the living that God hates america, He is your enemy, and He is killing your troops in His wrath! When the Lord cuts off the youth of a nation in their prime, it is not a blessing, it is a CURSE!

"Except the Lord build the house, They labor in vain that build it; Except the Lord keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain." Psa. 127:1.

The Lord no longer builds the American house; nor does the Lord watch over and protect America. You have wearied the Lord worshipping your idols and false gods. These soldiers are dying for the sins of doomed america. God is your #1 enemy, and God Himself is fighting against america. Your destruction is imminent! If you have ears to hear - obey today!
When our town heard this hate group was coming to our area people rallied together. The plan was for everyone to come together and shield the family and friends of the Solider from seeing a single sign or a single protester, by holding an American flag. The news spread like wild fire.

The outcome was moving. Truly remarkable.
(photos from a friend who drove by)

People were rows deep for a mile long. They stood in peace, waving our country's flag.
The hate group didn't even come close. They saw all the American flags from a far away gas station and later headed back home! They didn't stand a chance!

I believe the ignorance of that group has only strengthened our community and made us realize that we all stand on one common ground. A free land of promise and pride. We were all united yesterday. It makes my heart want to burst at it's seams.
I'm proud of my community and I love my America.
God Bless our troops.
RIP Marine Lance Cpl. Terry Honeycutt

Chocolate Matchsticks
Scoop of vanilla bonbons
Scoop of chocolate bonbons
Bucket of mushroom biscuits
Coconut Mushrooms
Christmas Tree jars 2009
Next week on scrapbook dreams I will be sharing with you my inspiration for a Winter Woodland themed Dessert table. So, today I thought I'd share with you my candy supplies that I will use to fill last year's Christmas Tree jars.

Now I am 12 Weeks

12 weeks? How can it be so! Oh baby boy-o, you are a little man in a baby's body! You have a little heart of pure gold, and your flirty little smile melts your mother's heart! You hold your head up now, and today you held a rattle in your fist, waving it wildly about before discovering you could put it in your mouth! You stare adoringly at your over-zealous sister when she comes near, and she loves you too. She can't go to bed til she's kissed and cuddled you goodnight, and she asks "bubby too?" when I put her in the car first and she wants to ensure you are coming too. You can blow-out with such force as to go through several layers of clothing, and you are prone to the odd milk projectile. But you have the most peaceful disposition, my darling boy, and I would forgive you almost anything! My precious Elliott, I am totally head over heels for you... xo mummy
