Have You Checked Your Happiness Lately

Here is a happiness health check - food for thought at least. "Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections"

Do you judge your happiness on everything being perfect in your life - if you do are you denying yourself happiness - lets face it nothing is perfect and does it really have to be, is not choosing perfection as a benchmark making a rod for your back - as you will always be striving for something that may not be possible? This doesn't mean you should accept second best but be realistic in your expectations.

"We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognising and appreciating what we do have." - Frederick Keonig

Do you constantly crave what is unachievable - like thinking you would be happier if you won the lottery or had a different job. There are no guarantees that achieving these things would make you happier - they might, but they also may bring other pressure and hardships you don't expect. If you seriously look at what you do have in your life - is it really that bad?

"Happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold, the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul." - Democritus
and "Happiness is not having what you want. It is wanting what you have"

It is easy for us to get caught up in our struggles, my hope is that you find the time to find your inner peace and to be happy within yourself - that really is the only thing we have control over.

My life, like everyone elses has its ups and downs, sometimes like now there seem to be more downs than ups - I give myself permission to be sad and angry, but above all I give myself permission to rise above and see the world in a different light.

If your life is full of serious troubles, please don't think I am making light or saying it is easy for you - I am only writing from my place of thought.

Bird Cage

Bird cage
My sister gave me a bird cage as a present. I had originally put it in my office, but on completing decorating our bedroom I thought it looked great sat on top of my wardrobe with a small decorative bird inside instead.

~ A Week of Firsts ~

We are now back home after a wonderful few days of firsts for our new little girl!

Her first cuddle with big sister Sienna

Her first cuddle with big sister Sofia

Her first bath with help from her big sisters

The past 5 days have been absolutely wonderful for me - knowing that this is our last addition to the family I have just really soaked in my 5 precious days of one on one time with our devine newborn.  She has been an absolute angel and pretty much slept for the entire time - I even have to wake her to feed her as she is so sleepy.  Now time to get back to the real world and try and organise 3 little munchkins and a husband!  Fun times ahead ... wish me luck.

Thank you to everyone for they lovely words and best wishes.

LIfe - A Journey Not A Race

Life is not a race
But a journey to be savoured
Each step of the way
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift

Do not fret over what has passed it can not be undone
Remember tomorrow always becomes today
So cherish the moments that today has bought
And above all - Take time to smell the roses

Bicycle helmet

Yakkay smart one bicycle helmet
So I have found my dream bike, and what I think is the most adorable bicycle basket. This got me thinking about finding cool bike helmets because as much as I would rather not wear one, I realise it's better to be safe than sorry. After much searching I found this cool one from Yakkay.

"Yakkay 'smart one' is a new smart design that differs by its rounded ear straps and adjustment buckles in polished stainless steel. But the real difference shows when one of the many different covers is attached to helmet – It changes from its characteristics of a helmet to a hat and becomes an accessory to your outfit. You adjust the helmet to your head with a number of adhesive foam circles which have the added advantage that air can circulate between them. When you are riding your bicycle, air will be pushed into the helmet, and pleasantly cool down your head. In addition, your head will stay dry in rainy weather, as the covers are designed without open holes."
