~ House Update - Garage Door ~

Our lovely new garage door was installed at the house last Friday. Yay - one step closer to completion.

Who ever would have thought that I would be excited by a garage door but I really am. It is lovely and lets lots of light into the garage!! Not normally something of great concern but amazing how it is nice to have a light garage without having to have the door up!

Taking The Time

Today my hubby and I caught up for lunch with some good friends of ours - we spent a few hours, eating, talking, joking and watching the wind, waves and rain out of the windows of the restaurant. We were lucky enough to be at a restaurant right on the beach.

It is so easy when you work as hard as we do, to not take the time to just do something as relaxing as sharing some time with friends.

Normally Sunday is my washing day - and today was no different, but I hung it up (under the patio) and just left it there to dry - tomorrow is soon enough to bring it in, today was about enjoyment and friendship.

I encourage you to make a point of not getting so busy just doing that you forget to enjoy the life you live. I need to remind myself of this more often as well. Time is fleeting.

Busy Busy Busy...

I dropped these pretties off at yet another beautiful stockist today. I am so thrilled to have my gorgeous Fabric yoyo button hair pretties stocked at the Enchanted Closet, located in High Street, Armadale and at their Woodend store. They stock so many of my favourite kiddie brands - ani & trio quilts, Cloth Poppy, Heavenly Creatures and for the mummys - drool worthy items like Luxe accessories. Its such a pretty store, with a pink and white striped feature wall and lots of white vintage furniture - It took all my strength not to make a purchase.

A few of the lovely blogs I read are posting beautiful pictures of these tissue paper pom poms and I am huge fan. I saw these a while back searching through etsy and they have obviously become a definite trend. As Louise's 2nd Birthday Party is just around the corner it has reminded me to orgainise the decorations - this is always my favourite part of party planning.
So being the handy, hand make girl that I am - I dare say I going to attempt to make them. Martha Stewart has provided us with what seems easy to do instructions here, so how hard could they be....
Mind you I'm sure they aren't going to look half as good these beautiful pom poms from PomLove .

Stay tuned for updates and in the meantime have a lovely weekend. Ciao!

~ Switching Off ~

It has been a busy week - lots of decisions being made at "the house" and lots of running around with "the kids" - time to switch off for the evening and relax for a change - have a great weekend everyone! Hope you are able to switch off for a few days.

The photos above are from Studio Toogood:

"Studio Toogood designs, directs and executes interiors and environments from concept through to creation. Under the creative direction of London-based interior stylist Faye Toogood, the Studio collaborates with clients who seek alternative ways of developing their brand. Its distinctive approach disregards convention in favour of something altogether more brave, joyous and impulsive."

I love the tea set in the first pic, the plush vintage looking throw, and of course I want the large bird cage filled with flowers.

Have a great day!

The seagull

Whenever I head to the beach with my camera I am always drawn towards the seagull.

This little one was watching us very closely as we ate our picnic lunch.
