exciting feature!

The lovely Joanne - features editor - from the Herald Sun Home magazine contacted me a couple of weeks ago asking if she could do a feature on the dolls house I re-modeled for our girls as well as the fabric wall art I made for my creative space.

It was wonderful to meet her today & I am looking forward to seeing the feature articles sometime soon. I will be sure to let you all know when the articles will be in print. You may want to spruce up your blogs & online stores - as my blog will be mentioned - so all followers & links via my blog will no doubt be clicked upon!

Seven Today

Today is our precious angel in heaven Laura's seventh birthday.

Seems like just yesterday but then again it feels like a lifetime ago that she entered our life.

This morning as we were getting ready for school I said to the girls "Guess whose birthday it is today". Sienna answered "I know it is Laura's birthday". Sofia says "which Laura (as we know a couple of Laura's)" and Sienna answer "you know, Laura in heaven, our sister". Sofia then says "oh mummy can we go to heaven and see her and have a party". "No we can't go to heaven to see her but we will go to her special place and take balloons and presents".

I am so pleased that my girls see her as an important part of our family. Sienna will always include here in her drawings of the family and talks about her all the time.

I vividly remember the deep hole I was in just 7 short years ago after we lost Laura and I could not imagine how life would ever recover. I am so grateful that I was able to go on have 3 more beautiful and healthy girls who have made that recovery so so sweet. While we will never forget Laura life has gone on to be just wonderful and she will act as our reminder of just how wonderful life with our girls is.

Here are some photos of us this afternoon at "Laura's Place" leaving special gifts and importantly smiling as we remember her.

Easter is only a few weeks away and as a regular reader of my blog you will know how much I love decorating for the Holidays. In the top pic is how my Easter table looked last year. To find out more, click on the link above or on the 'Easter' entry in the Labels cloud on the right hand side of this page.

This year I will be making a few extra pieces and, of course, baking some goodies. For the next few weeks I will be posting all things Easter!

Have a sweet day!

Clutter

Those of you who pass by my blog will know I love organization, tidiness, a calm clutter free zone. I seem to be craving this more and more as I get older. Today also seems to be a day were everywhere I look there are articles, magazines, blog posts about a de cluttering and simplifying life (more on the simplifying life part later in the week!). One particular article that caught my attention today was that about kids rooms and spaces and the number of toys that accumulate that they just don't use. I know I have known this for a while as my kids always play with the same things - at the moment they are having a huge craft phase and while I hate picking up a million tiny pieces of paper off the floor it is so lovely so see them happy.

It is with this in mind that I am going to clear out the playroom this week and embrace the things they love - here is what I am going to create for them...

I do need to be a little mindful of two other things - one is the fact that I have lots of other kids visiting and I do not want their craft space to be a free for all as this will also do my head in but it does seem that every time the play room is tipped upside down with all the other toys it is when other kids are here - clear them out I say and set limits on craft activities when others are about.

Secondly I need to remember that little Indi has just started to become mobile so I will need to be careful about her access to small craft like things and not clear away all the things that may be of interest to her.

Will get back to you later on how it goes.

Point + Shoot : 6

I don't know why I didn't pull out my Camera at all this weekend

- Not that I didn't have the perfect opportunities.

I had my hair done,
went out for tea,
meet a special friends baby for the first time,
caught up with some friends,
made a heap of new hair pretties,
Spent all day Sunday bonding with the ladies at a function,
not to mention the CRAZY weather Melbourne gave us.

But seeing as technically its a long weekend {although hubby didn't have it off}

- I'm sure a photo from today will be fine,

My mum's been away for quite a while, so she was desperate to have Lou come and visit today - I took the opportunity to catch up on some sewing and organising for my next market on the weekend. I made some gorgeous heart garland to decorate the stall. Although it turned out so cute that I might have to save it for Lou's room.

Don't forget to join in the Point + Shoot fun here.
