An Easter Stitch 'n' Biatch!

A few of the "I can't sew" turned "sewing goddess" gals from my mothers group came around today to assist with a little Easter project!
At 14-16 months our bubs are still a little young for chocolate, so when I spotted an idea from this blog to make little bunny softies instead, I had to pinch it!
With coffee and a few of these sugary delights to fuel the creative fire, we set to work:
We set up a little production line, with two of us cutting, pinning and stuffing, and the other two sewing. For such a simple design, it's amazing the 'unique' shapes we managed to create! Using old bits of scrap fabric, we also added little bells inside the softies along with wadding for a bit of fun. Here's the girls hard at work:
While we sewed, our bubs ran around the house like little ferals angels:
... and Fern 'helped' with fabric selection:
And the finished product? It turned out a little something like this!
Cant wait for our Easter Bunny scramble next week, it'll be so much fun!
Have a great weekend.... x

Princesses in Action

As promised a few pictures from Sofia's Princess Party in action! Thank you to Cinderella who kept the crowd under control and the to beautifully well behaved 4 year olds that made Sofia's day so special. If you would like to see all the pretty details from Sofia's party check them out on my earlier post here.

(Had to add this photo of "the dress" that ended up not being "the dress" - there was only a couple of shots with her in it before her costume meltdown)

Lots of Limbo

Mastery and an Unexpected Award!

Thanks so much to the very sweet Janette from My Sweet Prints who awarded me with a Master of Karate and Friendship Award yesterday! I am v flattered but completely crap at following any rules let alone these rules:

Master of Karate and Friendship Award are:

1. List 6 things you are a master in.
2. Pass it on to 6 bloggers you think are masters
at friendship and make blogging awesome.

Firstly, I cannot think of anything I have truly mastered, I am ok at a lot of things but a 'master'? Then, I went about selecting 6 bloggers to pass the award on to but discovered pretty much all of them have already been gifted this or the Sunshine award over the last few days! Can they be awarded twice?? So, thanks again Janette and sorry I am so completely hopeless... hey, I am definitely a master of hopelessness!!

Birthday Wishes and Wardrobe Malfunctions

Finally Sofia is officially four! This birthday seems to be lasting a long time and as she went to bed tonight she even asked if it will still be her birthday when she wakes up!

Happy birthday my sweet girl - and yes I will forgive you for Sunday's wardrobe meltdown when you refused to wear the beautiful new outfit mummy had purchased specially for your party ...

(Before: Beautiful new outfit that did not even see the start of the party as it was too hot and made her itchy)

And went back into the old favourite which yes was much much more comfortable. Not sure whose tantrum was bigger Sofia's or Mummy's (or daddy's for that matter when he realised she did not want to wear the hugely expensive new dress up costume that mummy got in trouble for buying!).

(After: Old favourite Belle costume that is very comfortable and far more practical with all that cake and running around!)

Sweet dreams my birthday girl.

The Pillow Case Dress... Without the Pillowcase!!

Did you sleep ill last night -- tossing and turning over my big project reveal today?!? hehe no doubt ;)
Well, without further ado, here it is!
Yep you guessed it, it's an Easter frock for little Fern. And I added the little pocket rabbit during her 4.5minute naptime this morning. That's why one ear is ludicrously shorter than the other. No time for take #2.

The design is loosely based on a pillowcase dress, though I didn't have a suitable pillowcase, so I guess it isn't a pillowcase dress at all! Fern will model this dress on Easter, or possibly all of next week because let's face it, she probably won't wear it afterward!

What do you think??

ps. I have crafty projects coming out of my ears at the mo - this afternoon I raided the op shops and found some great vintage buttons for an artwork, we're making a whole stack of rabbit softies for the bubs in our mother's group for our Easter soiree, plus there are those damn chocolate Easter eggs I am committed to making. Not to mention painting my bedroom feature wall, and have I even mentioned I need to create a nursery at some point?? I am almost halfway through this pregnancy and am beginning to panic! Where will I find the time??
