New Kitchen

cute kitchen cupboard

Pastel tea set

Mini Le Creuset

Pretty kitchen utensils

Cute baking!

I am so excited! We are going to put a new kitchen in our house! Our current kitchen has electric blue skirting boards, a brass hood, missing lino floor tiles, missing handles, doors etc, a beige sink and a fridge freezer that covers the window. You get the idea, it is one nasty kitchen!

As kitchens are once or twice in a lifetime projects I want a kitchen that has longevity, with a classic design but one that feels modern. I am looking at white door and drawer fronts as white is definitely a classic in kitchen design. It gives a light and airy feel, yet is elegant as it is not the most practical colour for a kitchen. I'm hoping it will work as a classic backdrop to my colourful kitchen accessories and personal style.

I will share with you here the great finds and pretties I find along the way!

Have a sweet day!

Ever wondered What Would Happen if You Ate Crayons?

Have you ever watched an episode of Myth Busters? I felt like my very own episode this afternoon...

When I was a kid, I ate my share of grossness. Cat biscuits. Raw sausage. Random weeds from the garden. That sort of thing.

So I wasn't too surprised when Fern decided that her first box of crayons held far more potential as a snack than as a drawing implement. It happened before I could stop her, and when she smiled, red and yellow wax was wedged between her teeth.

Anyway, I discovered categorically that --

-- if one eats a fair proportion of a box of crayons... yes, it will materialise out the other end. And yes, the same colour as it went in.

Ahhhhhh, motherhood.

The Hambledon

Pastel enamel milk pans
Ceramic cake stand
Pastel rectangle baking dishes
Branksome tea cups & saucers
Hambledon is an independent lifestyle shop and concept department store in Winchester, Hampshire.

As a regular reader of my blog you will know how I like to co-ordinate my Kitchen, from utensils to dinnerware. I already have the milk pots and one oven dish, but would love to get the small pink one. My blue oven dish is used constantly, from serving barbeque food in the summer to apple crumbles in the winter.

I love cake stands and just had to include this pretty detailed white ceramic one.

Have a sweet day!

Our House - The Kitchen

One of my favourite rooms in our house is my beautiful kitchen.

It is spacious and sleek and I love it. We have the most amazing 5 and half meter long island bench which means you never get in anyones way when preparing dinner!

These stools have followed us from our previous house and we would love to replace them but are yet to find any we like.

My pantry is amazing and is behind these doors - only the centre door opens and they you walk in to find loads of storage!

I am in love with my Abey tap - known as the beast it is just fantastic and ever so lovely to look at! The zip hot water tap is also an amazing little feature (one expensive kettle however) - it has been well worth the expense as it is so fantastic to have boiling water whenever you need it.

There is loads of storage on both sides of the island and when the bi-fold doors are open it feels like you are cooking outdoors - it really is just lovely!

If you look closely you will see some little legs scooting along the floor behind the two chairs at the end of the family room! That is little Indi exploring all corners of the house or maybe she was playing hide and seek from her big sisters! Funny the things your don't realise are happening as you take photos!

@ my house

there have been lots of tea parties & lots of giggles coming from the cubby house in the back garden!

Having friends over to play makes the day so much more fun.

my girl & her hat

I couldn't resist buying the girls some hats from here & hope they also come in handy for up & coming photo shoots!

Pink Buckets

Buckets seem to rule in our house as a way to store things - these tub trugs are fantastic and we seem to have one in every room in the house to put something in - it is amazing the different things these wonderful buckets can be used for - and of course in our house they all seem to be pink!

Toys and dress ups in the bedroom ....

Laundry to be hung out to dry ...

More toys in another bedroom ...

More buckets in the laundry to store wet towels and swimming costumes ...

And of course outside to store pool toys ...

At last count we had 7 of these little pink buckets ... they appear to be breeding!
