On my hunt for kitchen ideas I came across these lovely very white kitchens. They are too white for me as I am too afraid of being able to keep them that clean!

Have a sweet day!

Time ...

Ok it is the week for questions to you all in blogland! Things in Australia have turned a little crazy in TV land this week - I am not big on TV during the evening usually as it my time to hop on the computer uninterrupted and scour the world of blogs. This week however things have turned nasty with the return of Masterchef Australia to our screens - every night this week it is sucking me in - and to add to all that tonight is the finale of So You Think You Can Dance Australia!

So now I sit here with laptop on lap watching SYTYCD trying to work out how to blog and keep up with everyone. I have had the most wonderful and lovely comments on my blog in the past few weeks so I am visiting loads of new blogs that I hadn't visited before - this has become a full time job!

So my question - how does everyone else keep up with all this wonderfulness which is the blogworld - do you click through a few each day or do you also sit on your computer for hours? Do you find new blogs to follow each week and if you become a follower how do you keep up with everyone? Do you leave loads of comments every day or just the odd one every now and then? And then there is time spent on your own blog! Oh the questions could go on forever but I would love to hear any thoughts on time management in the blogworld.

Gender Neutral Nursery pt1 - Colour Scheme

Last week, in the height of my fanatical nestiness, I painted my new baby's nursery a calming Dulux Whisper White. Such a lovely colour which goes with just about every piece of furniture and accessory you can dream up. So now, with my blank slate I can start designing a gender neutral nursery for my little one, due late August!

I have to admit that with Fern, I found out I was having a girl early on, giving me plenty of time to dream up a girlie boudoir (view more pics of Ferns nursery here). I loved knowing what I was having and bonded with her immediately... I couldn't understand people who asked me what I could possibly have to look forward to during labour (um, how about HAVING MY BABY) and I never regretted finding out for one second!

But this time, I want to know what it's like to be surprised. It's been easy so far... except for the nursery planning! Most everybody around me seems to think I'm having a boy (I want your say too, vote here and be in the running to win a softie once the baby is born if your answer is correct!) and I can't help but be slightly slanted toward boyish stuff... but I must be careful, it could well turn out to be a little sister for Ferny after all!

I thought about going a lovely, calming white and beige combo. But I am too colourful a person for that... after reviewing nursery images I've saved on my desktop over the last few months, mostly sourced from Spearmint Baby and Flikr, I'm beginning to see a pattern emerging in my choice of colours:

Turquoise -- red -- yellow -- green... I think I've accidentally chosen my nursery colour palette! I am especially loving the turquoise/ yellow combo, but do you think that is too girlie? I also love the embroidery wall hanging idea which can be adapted to either sex, coloured rice paper lanterns as a mobile, and stripes! Early days in my nursery planning, but that's where my headspace is right now... thoughts??

Can I Steal Your 'Reading List'?

I am such a blog addict these days, I find it hard to remember what else I used to look at on the internet... sometimes when I'm bored, I like looking at the fave blog lists of my fellow bloggers. I like discovering what they enjoy reading, and I've found some really cool new blogs that way.

But at the moment, I kind of feel like I'm 'between books'. (Actually I am, quite literally. If you want to know, I'm re-reading The Devil Wears Prada out of pure desperation. But I'll get to the library at some point this year...)

I flatter myself that if you are reading my blog right now, you must find it in some way interesting. So you must relate to me in SOME way, and therefore we have something in common! Dear friend, tell me about you -- what blogs are you loving right now and why?! Or maybe you have your OWN blog you want to flog... so flog away!

Wardrobe Dreams

Ahh to have a dream wardrobe like these celebs ...

This is my all time favourite - Oprah's wardrobe designed by Nate

And to have the space for all these shoes

So elegant

Paula seems to like her accessories

We are having the most amazing autumn weather here in Sydney - in preparation for what is normally a change to colder weather I did the wardrobe flip just last week and put lots of my summer stuff away and started sorting through the winter wardrobe - of course this is the perfect excuse for the weather to confuse us! Not that I am complaining as there is nothing better than sunshine and warm days but it got me to thinking about how nice it would be to have a lovely big wardrobe without having to put things away each season!

Oh to dream ... which one do you like best?

Photo #6

Normally, I am too hopeless for words when it comes to responding to challenges. Just getting up in the morning is often enough of a challenge for me (esp now my 'mornings' are so much earlier!)... but this one, posted by Amanda from Homely One looked like a bit of fun!

The simple challenge is to go back to the 6th image I ever uploaded onto my blog, repost it to share it with you all and remember the moment... so here goes:

That there is the first little softie dolly I ever made for my daughter... it still sits on the shelf in her nursery and I still really get a kick out of it! My original post also showcased some amazing softies I found on the web, there are some very clever crafty girlies out there! I've made a few softies since that one, but I think Dolly might remain my fave! I've actually got the cut-outs and supplies for a couple of monkey softies spreadeagled across my kitchen table at the moment. I seem to have temporarily lost my mojo...

So let me extend the challenge to YOU, dear blogger! What was YOUR photo #6? If you decide to share (no pressure) will you let me know? I'd love to see it!

Spring has sprung! So here are some pretty bird interiors to freshen up your home!

It would seem that the trend for having our feathered friends dotted about our houses be it on cushions, wallpaper or perched on sideboards is not going away. Yipee!

I am in love with the pale blue bird candle holder in the top pic.

Have a sweet day!
