Special Spoons

Hi Everyone,  I hope you had a lovely weekend.  Thank you to everyone who has left comments here and on facebook about Sofia's Bubblegum and Soda Party - it has been such an exciting few days receiving such lovely feedback.  If you missed the post you can see it here.

I have had lots of questions about various aspects of the party and today I thought I would show you how I created the spoons with Sofia's name on it.

It was quite simple, but the effect looked like I had had them printed professionally.

First of all I pulled out the stamp with Sofia's name on it that I had made last year.

Then I pulled out one of my favourite scrapbooking tools - the liquid chalk.  I used the brown colour as it gives it the vintage look.  You can buy liquid chalk in most craft or scrapbooking stores - Spotlight sells them in Australia in a large array of colours.

I then set to work stamping each of the little spoons with my "Sofia" stamp.
The ice cream cup and spoon set is one by Robert Gordon Workshop and I got mine from the lovely Gaby at Love to Celebrate.  The colours matched my theme perfectly and they were the perfect size for a piece of cake and ice cream.   If you would like to order your very own stamp I am now taking orders - see my blog post here for details.

One final note for today - I have been nominated as one of the Top 25 Party Plannin Moms over on Circle of Moms - you are able to vote once a day until 11th April.

If you have time I would love for you to vote for me by clicking here - it only takes a few seconds!

♥ Loving twine

[AmberLawrence on etsy]

After writing my Grateful post a few days ago, I couldn't help but go on a bit of a twine spree (as you do). I confess that I have loads of the stuff, all different kinds. Can't get enough. It's the kind of stuff that makes me get all itchy I love it so much. Really, what's wrong with me!?

I was going to show you spools and spools of the good stuff, but it just looked, well, kinda like a whole lot of string. Which really didn't help build my case. So here we go... yummy twine in action.

Come take an etsy with me (I'm entering 'etsy' into the dialogue as an adjective. It means 'journey into a wonderous rabbit hole; pack a sandwich and  flask, we're going to be a while'...)

Oh my! And now I feel another garland-fetish post coming on... stay tuned!

Do you get toey for the tiey stuff too? Is there another simple old thing that makes you happy?

A Bright Easter

Today in my series of posts "Inspirational Pins", I bring you another Easter Inspirational board. This time in bright Pink, lavender, yellow and green. How adorable are those Easter cookie ornaments? I especially love the nostalgic spring-themed designs ones. Printed by a local baker onto edible paper. I need to find a local baker that can print onto edible paper !
For more Easter Inspiration check out my Easter Pinterest board!

Have a sweet day!
A little reminder ...

Today i had a little reminder of why i love this creative space so much ... we are still here.
The bump has been growing and the time going so quickly now that i am at 25 weeks.
Our days have been taken up with moments of resting, creating, playing,
collecting, nesting, baking, lemon tea drinking and quietly
savouring precious moments.

Thank you for the beautiful emails and kind comments ... we are safe and well x

Our Weekend: A Madhatters Tea Party!

In case I wasn't already quite sure I have the coolest inlaws in the whole wide world...

Yesterday they played host to a 'Madhatters Tea Party' for their nine grandchildren!

The kids sported their 'mad' hats (I was going to make one, ran out of time and bought Fern's from the $2 shop) but nanny and poppy outdid themselves with full fancy costumes:

Being such a large family, we don't get many opportunities these days to converge together but Fern adores her cousins and was totally in her element. Cake! Lollies! Green cordial (ok, I drew the line at that one, I'm the one who has to get her to sleep!), party blowers...

Fern was obsessed with her blower... except she couldn't quite get hers to make a 'toot', so she just blew it out and made her own little toot noise!

The table looked so sweet, I forgot to get a pic of all the little cakes and things (probably too busy stuffing my face):

... and there was even a gorgeous little shetland pony named 'Bunny' borrowed for the afternoon from a neighbour for the kids to ride:

... best of all, it was such a lovely sunny Autumn afternoon and despite the fact that all the kids were sugar-laden and missing their afternoon sleeps I didn't hear a single tear all party! A success!

How did your weekend pull up, did you do anything spesh?
