Dust on my dust on my dust

The above pics were taken at 6.30am on Tuesday out the back of my place and looking down my street. Un-photoshopped. Freaky much?

Extreme winds have forced the Australian Outback into my home; quite frankly I've never seen anything like it. Last night, when I'd finally eradicated the last of it from my linen/ furniture/ floor/ clothing/ blinds/ car/ lungs etc etc I heard on the news another dust storm was coming overnight. They weren't wrong, and whilst we didn't get quite the visual spectacular of last Tuesday's event, there is enough red dust again in my house to rival Mars.

Not sure where to start with it so going out. I'm sure there is something I have to get desperately from the shops......right?

Wow! is what I thought when I discovered Lisbeth Dahl's website. The catalog is filled with pretty, shiny, shimmery objects for all areas of your home. I am in love with the vast range of pretty cake plates and stands which I will explore in more detail next time.

From the website:
Throughout the years, our collections have grown in size, coinciding with the growing market demand for Lisbeth Dahl products. Every single product is designed and developed by our design team in Denmark, every detail is scrutinised from start to finish. We take a solemn but yet creative approach to colour, shape and quality, and no product is signed off before everyone is truly satisfied.

She also does a range of sparkling accessories, frou frou umbrellas and delicate jewellery.

I have just made an exciting purchase in an attempt to get better with my portrait photography. Here she is the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens - hope to take some lovely photos in the coming days to share with you.

Tea Party Playmat - could this be any more adorable?

Images via  www.ohdeedoh.com

Over the last couple of days, I've seen links to this adorable handmade playmat on more than one site. And for good reason. Babies love tactile surfaces, and I just know Fern would love a playmat like this. Oh, the imaginary tea parties we could have! The playmat comes from Sweetfancy and was made as a gift for a little three year old girl. I love the detailing; the biscuits are even stuck on with velcro so they can be lifted off the plate. Where do I order??

~ A dusty old day ~

What an amazing day we are experiencing here in Sydney. It was such an erie feeling this morning as we woke as normally the sun is up bright and early at this time of year and everyone is waking early. This morning however we had this amazing orange glow, the wind was wild and the red dust ferocious! I don't think we have ever seen anything like it here before.

Here are some amazing photos of the Sydney dust storm.

Can you believe this image below is of Bondi beach
