8 months & baby shower!

I am now EIGHT months! Less than two months until the big day.

I feel great minus running of breath faster and feeling exhausted more often. It doesn't help that it's been a million degrees outside. I need to keep active though, I have a lot photo sessions booked through the end of August (in which I will be 36 weeks, whew)!

Here was my latest sonogram!

Addison at 31 weeks, 4 days...cord is over her left eye

She was approx. 3lbs 13oz. and already has hair!! Those lips just get me, I think they're adorable. This is the last time I will see of her until she is here in my arms. Goodness I can't wait. Still, I'm going to try to enjoy my last eight weeks of pregnancy. There's no other time like it!

Thank you all who came and celebrated with me! And a very special thank you to all those who helped plan the shower, going above and beyond to make the day perfect, you know who you are!
Addison is so lucky to have you all happily awaiting her arrival! (And she's pretty darn spoiled already!)

Rain it did

Torrential

Lovely to hear on the roof at night torrential

But not so hot for school pick-up type torrential

After my post here just a few weeks ago about the glorious Sydney winter weather we were having, it all turned sour last week - the wettest July for 60 years and that was just in 5 days.

Finally on Sunday the rained stopped and Indi and I headed out for walk - skies were still grey, the air still cold and there were lots of bare trees but it was lovely to see the Magnolia's starting to flower.

I am so looking forward to the leaves returning to the trees and the renewal that comes with Spring.

So how is the weather where you are? Are you ready for a change of season yet?

Pause: nine

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.

The one with a happy ending...

Once upon a time there was a little little girl. A beautiful little girl. That - due to circumstance - spent the first two years of her life within the confines of a Thai orphanage. When I met her she was tiny. Desperately shy. Barely able to communicate.

But an angel must have been watching out for this little girl.

Persistent dedication and a whole lot of love tore through the bureaucratic red-tape that would have seen this little girl unnecessarily without a mother... and little Jantima was finally blessed into the arms of an amazing and besotted family. Can you believe - looking at her now - her start in life?

Confident. Happy. Cheeky. Absolutely beautiful. And loved.

Just as every child should be.

Oh - and stylish, too! I got to design Jantima a special outfit for her birthday and this is the picture I was sent. Ok, I'm biased but I defy this image not to melt your heart!

Sometimes stories have happy endings.....
