Living Pretty Modern

I love how my living room looks at this time of year, but as the 6th of January grows nearer I will have to put away all the Christmas sparkle and I have a feeling my lounge will have that certain lacklustre feel to it!
So, I thought I would kick start the year with my Living Pretty Modern mood board. I am loving the fresh colour palette of white, grey, lavender and duck egg blue. The array of prints, patterns and textures which make it look super stylish. Oh, and not forgetting all the glamourous highlights like the beaded chandelier, ornate mirrors and light-reflecting glass furniture. I feel a little living room re-style heading my way!

i am really enjoying the summer holiday season {even though i am not technically on holidays!} we are staying up later after visits to the beach to cool down, eating fresh fruit, enjoying bbqs with friends & spending more time hanging in the hammock.
i am also still enjoying blog hopping & adding to my reading lists. here are a few blogs you might enjoy too:
Happy Sparkling New Year!

via forget me knot weddings, The Collection Event Studio, hello, friend, and The Inspired Bride.
Wishing you all a sparkling, happy New Year! Thank you all for making 2011 here on Torie Jayne so special!
Instead of making New Year's resolutions that I inevitably break or never complete I have decided to just remember these lovely quotes. How about you?

After a lovely holiday I shall be back tomorrow with my usual pretty finds, inspiring interior boards, new craft ideas and a host of gluten-free recipes but until then...
Have a sweet day, lovelies!
a year so fresh and new
Happy New Year, my friends! I wish you a genuinely fulfilling 2012 that's packed full of moments to be savored. I hope it's a time you can look back on and say, "Well, that was a pretty good year, wasn't it?" Speaking of new things, our baby girl just cracked her first smile. What began as a faint crooked line has since turned into a beaming fat grin. I'll take it as a sign of more good things to come.

My Favorite
I debated publishing this one, due to it being slightly graphic. but it could possibly be my favorite picture. and it's definitely my favorite memory. ever. So thankful my BFF was there to capture so many awesome moments of this day.
Just Because...So There!
Such a special time in our life, I loved being pregnant.
Hopes and Dreams
My number one hope and dream is that this little girl has a wonderful year full of firsts, that she grows big (even if it kills me), and stays happy and healthy!

You will find that last year's 2010 Memories, Dreams & Reflections had many more variety of subjects- Pre-Addison :)
yesterday & today
yesterday i made a cous cous salad for the first time {i know - behind the times!}
it actually tasted pretty good & was full of yummy flavours
lemon
garlic
cucumber
toasted sunflower & sesame seeds
olive oil
& onion
I will definitely make it again
& then we took the cous cous salad to a NYE bbq to celebrate with friends
& today
i am thinking about all i would like to achieve in this new year
like
filling our 8 seater dining table with more that just the four of us more often
a healthier mind, body & soul
reading more books & watching more movies
a load of washing a day {boring but keeps the chaos away & is not my fav part of housekeeping!}
spending less & saving more
actually opening my daily emails from here & not just deleting them un read
take more photographs of families & love & places & spaces
as you embark on this fresh new year of 2012 i hope you enjoy many happy days doing what you love
