Mini Bedroom Makeover - Progress!

Remember this post, back in January, when I was planning a simple bedroom makeover? Really, the only thing driving me completely barmy was the colour of the feature wall - a fushia which was great two years ago but was SCREAMING AT ME now.

Six hundred and eighty-nine paint swatches later, I chose Wattyl's 'Morpheus' because I liked the colour and well, the name sounded kinda cool! Today (because I've run out of windows to wash) I decided to finally get around to painting my bedroom!

I am ashamed to admit the dust that was breeding both behind the bedhead and on the actual wall... clearly my cleaning skills leave a lot to be desired.

Anyway, here's the finished product:

It is sort of a dark gray with a hint of purple but it sort of changes with the light and...... I love it! Now I am just deciding what to put behind the bedhead, I'm thinking about getting a large rectangular canvas and pasting yellow-toned buttons onto it which I think would look really good against the gray. But I'm open to suggestions!

Now that it's getting cooler, our Winter doona is on the bed, and we decided we desperately needed (well, wanted) some new linen. I went shopping but was a bit nervous about spending ridiculous amounts of money -- I get sick of linen really quickly and quite frankly I think a lot of it is stupidly overpriced. I was excited to discover that Adairs is having a sale, and I picked up this quilt and matching pillowcases for about $56 down from well over $250!! At that price, it would have been sinful not to have bought it, tres non?

This weekend, I'm going to decide on the wall art... and hopefully get started on it! What have you got lined up this long weekend? x
