Thank you cards shop is the brainchild of Vancouver based graphic designer Amy Lowry, who loves stationery! She got her start in designing stationery for her own wedding almost 6 years ago and from there she was hooked.
Almost everything about her wedding was DIY, from the favors to the stationery, to the bridesmaids jewelry and the cupcakes at the after party! When it came time to design the 'thank you' cards for the wedding she found herself short on time – and ended up shopping for cards, but wasn’t totally happy with the selection available and the lack of customized options. So, years later Thank you cards shop was born.
All of the wonderfully designed cards are digitally printed on high quality white card stock and professionally printed and beautifully packaged in her studio. Amy also owns a blog where she posts free printables and shares pics of her lovely photo shoots, amongst other treasures!

Easter Hanging Butterflies
Easter hanging butterflies for my Easter tree
On a recent trip to the New Covent Garden Market in London I spied a massive box of clear acrylic butterflies. I had bought similar looking maple leaves just before Christmas and had loved how they looked after a lick of white paint and some baker's yarn. I knew I had to purchase some of the butterflies with the view to paint them in pink and blue to match my Easter Palette.
I love how they turned out and now I need to get on with making this year's Easter Tree to hang them on.
Easter Hanging Butterflies
What you will need:
14 Acrylic butterflies
Pink frosted glass beads
Blue frosted glass beads
28 green wooden beads
Mono filament 0.23mm
Flamingo Fun pink paint
Blue paint
Instructions
- Wash butterflies in warm soapy water and leave to dry
- Paint seven butterflies in pink (I did three coats) and leave to dry
- Repeat with remaining butterflies in blue and leave to dry
- Cut 20 cm of mono filament
- Thread mono filament through hole in centre of butterfly and tie in a knot
- Thread three beads in alternating colours down both ends of thread, and push below knot
- Thread ten beads in alternating colours, finishing with one green bead down each side
- Knot ends

This week I'm grateful for... engaged strangers
What on earth is an engaged stranger, you ask? Someone you don't know who is about to get married?
Nope.
This week I'm grateful for...
115. Engaged strangers - those lovely people here and there that acknowledge the world around them and make outings with children just that little bit easier. The tough guy at the supermarket who pulled funny faces to amuse The Badoo at the checkout. The kind people who wave and smile back when my extra-friendly son says "hello Big Person, do you like Harry Potter too?" (and, really, who are all those people who just keep on walking past him with a frown? Who are you?). The lovely lady who gave Cappers a little sweet* at the newsagency (it wasn't that kind lady's fault that World War Three instantly broke out because "she got something and I didn't"). Yes, those kind of engaged strangers. I love 'em.
116. Homecomings - LOML comes home tonight. Woot!
117. Leggings - this time of year, I'm living in them. Actually, I'm kind of into them all year 'round. I don't even care that they are sooooo yesterday; I've got a feeling they are always going to be my tomorrow staple. And don't worry, I'm all about the skirt over the top!!
* You can tell me off for letting my daughter take a sweet from a stranger if you like... but we do have a rule that they are only allowed to talk to a person they don't know if Mum or Dad are with them... it goes okay. I'll write a post on the whys and hows soon.

friendship and flowers...
This week I got to catch up with two of my closest friends. One is in the middle of a 10-month work secondment based in Paris (lucky duck) while other is in the middle of that feeding, burping and nappy changing routine ever present in the early months of parenthood. Goes without saying that it was wonderful to see them both, along with the beautiful new bub...even though I forgot the camera ...twice :)

It's Friday
Hello Everyone - I hope you have had a great week. School holidays here and I have been hit with a nasty flu for most of the week - not great timing!
On a bright note however the Autumn weather we are having this week here in Sydney is nothing short of spectacular. Being my birthday month it also means my local florist sent me some great birthday vouchers so I headed in for a pick me up - flowers in the house always brighten me up.
The crystal clear skies also meant we could see the ships on their way out of Sydney Harbour from our bedroom balcony - such a gorgeous city to live in.
Exciting news also on the Circle of Moms Top 25 Party Plannin Moms front - I made it in to top 25 which I am thrilled with - thank you to everyone who voted for me - your support was amazing. The final 25 will be featured on a new mom resource The Roundup and all the blogs will be showcased here over the coming weeks.
I am still taking orders for stamps (if you would like to know more about the stamps check here) - if you get your order in this weekend they will be out to you next week.
